Times-They Are A Changing

We often look to disposable income to pay for support for learning and change.  Learning and change are to improve the quality of our lives (and businesses).  We seem to rely on basic funding to maintain the status quo–the way we are now–and look to “extra” funding to pay for growth (support for learning and change).

An Internet Marketer was speaking with me the other day about an education program she was offering.  She mentioned that some people invested their last dollar in a similar program and achieved great rewards and success by participating.

I know those stories, too.  Many people do that and are quite successful.

We live in interesting times.  I’m not sure that the global market an Internet Marketer is counting on really exists in quantity today.  Of course, some people have money to invest–probably fewer people and less money than in prior years.  I love Internet Marketing.  I believe that the Internet is the place to expand my Learning and Change Marketplace.  While people in my neighborhood may not be ready for support for learning and change, others are around the world.  Using today’s technology for telecommunications, I can provide learning and change navigation and coaching virtually around the world.  My experience and expertise in creating and facilitating learning programs around the world will help me when I do global online workshops (webinars) from my living room.

I’m a Baby Boomer.  I had a career in the U.S. Army for ten years and have been a learning and change navigator for 40+ more years.  I have a service-connected disability which qualifies me for some VA benefits and I’ve worked long enough to quality for Social Security benefits.  I’m also old enough to qualify for Medicare benefits I’ve been paying into for years.  I count on all of that income as part of my retirement income.  Now I am looking to leverage the Internet into a place where I can make a difference and continue to produce an income stream that will help me enjoy my “retirement.”  (That probably translates to enjoy doing what I love to do, making a positive difference, and generating the income I want at the same time.  “Retirement” doesn’t really come into it too much.)

The US Congress needs to raise the debt ceiling that’s in place today in order for the government to meet its obligations to me in terms of VA Benefits, Social Security, and Medicare.  Those are critical components of my income and the people I pay my bills to are not going to be happy if they don’t get their payments in November because the government has stopped paying me.  I’m one of millions in the same boat.

I’m also a firm believer in the “Law of Attraction” and in abundance.  (I even facilitate programs in that area.)  That’s coming forward as an adjunct to the government funding I receive.

That will be a part of the learning and change navigation and coaching services I provide my clients.  We need to learn and to change together to align ourselves positively with the “Law of Attraction” and to open ourselves to the abundance present in the universe.  This can certainly happen quickly, though usually in its own timing.

What are you doing to create a secure source of income as you move to the age to qualify for government programs such as Social Security and Medicare?  What support do you have for the learning and change required to transition from what you’re doing now to something new you need to do to generate ongoing income for those “retirement” years?

Back to the original concept.  This may be a time when you need to expand beyond the concept of using only disposable income to pay for support for learning and change.  The need for learning and change is upon us.  The U.S. Congress is just giving us a highlighted snapshot of that need.

Want to join me in creating a Law of Attraction Mastermind group?  How else can I help you in your learning and change journey to a more secure and more enjoyable future?

Learning and Change Marketplace

While meeting and greeting people at the Integrative Learning and Healing Center.org booth (#52, showcasing JoelMonty.com services) last Sunday, September 29th, at the Fox Valley Holistic Health Celebration, I had time to reflect on insights about the Learning and Change marketplace.

For many people, change is not welcome. While it is good to say that people want change (to lose weight, build confidence, exercise, eat healthy foods, improve financial situations, etc.), many people have a vested interest in leaving things the way they are. The “desired” change is like “winning the lottery.” (All at once for just the cost of a ticket.)

Real learning and change usually requires work. As a Learning and Change Navigator and Coach, I know about the work involved. I help my clients work through the learning and change process, step by step.

None of the people who stopped by my booth at the Holistic Health Celebration was ready to explore learning and change with me that day. I’m offering a workshop, “Take Charge of Your Moods” on Sunday, October 6, 2013, from 2 to 4 PM at Soup to Nuts, 716 W State St, Geneva, IL. So far no one has registered for the workshop, even when offered at a special rate connected to the Holistic Health Celebration ($30). (Visit https://JoelMonty.com/take-charge-of-your-moods/ to register.)

My friend, Rich Erschik, frequently spoke with me about this challenge. His business was “Leads to Sales” (though now he is a “Leads to Sales” Consultant and Trainer). Many of the sales people and other executives at companies he worked with did not want to learn and change when he showed them better ways to convert leads from trade shows to actual client sales. The risk of learning and change appeared to be greater than the discomfort of living with the “status quo.”

In my more than 40 years as a Learning and Change Navigator and Coach, many of the individuals at my client companies were not ready for the learning and change the company had contracted with me to bring about. These employees often wanted change at a lower level than that projected by the parent company.

In some instances, the parent company wanted a major change that violated the corporate DNA (the essential core of the business that was the hallmark of its success). When a change is in conflict with the corporate DNA, if the change takes place, the entire company is threatened. If it doesn’t take place, the advocates for the change could get in real hot water with the parent company.

In today’s economic times in the USA–even more so when Congress cannot approve a budget for the 2013-2014 fiscal year–learning and change is needed at unprecedented levels and organizations, groups, and individuals who need to change to adapt and to survive and to be more successful are reluctant to risk the change or to invest in support for the change even when they know it’s needed.

I need to expand my personal learning and change market place. When you read this, refer it to a friend. I need to do more online workshops (webinars) so that people don’t need to visit me in Geneva to get the benefits from working with me to help them learn to change more successfully.

What do you want to learn to change? Let’s see if I can assist you.

There is no such thing as small change. All change is important to someone.
